Last night I had my first face-to-face interview. It was with the same woman I had the phone interview last Friday, Maria. All in all I think it went well. She spent probably as much time asking me questions as she did telling me about her division and the company. I wasn't really nervous, which is surprising because I'm always nervous with stuff like that. You know, leading music, playing my guitar, interviewing, speaking in front of more than a few people, not favorites.
Anyway, we talked for about an hour, and she told me up front she wanted her manager to interview me. I think there is one other person in for a second interview, at least from what I think she was saying, but I'm optimistic. From everything we discussed about her section and the company, I really want to work there even more now than I even did before. I just received a phone call from HR there, and I have the interview on Tuesday.
On another note I played guitar at Lifegroup this week for the second time. Kind of nerve racking, see above, but it went well. A lady from church who is a music professor and incredible violinist, played with me. It was funny because as I got out my guitar and music she's like "What key are you playing in?", and I'm like "Oh, uh E" and she's like, "Oh that the hardest to play". Riiiigghhht. Professional violinist saying it's hard. I just laughed and then we started worship time. It was awesome! I started playing, and she kind of just went off playing along. She was improvising, or whatever you called, but it was great. It really added to our time worshipping and I was glad I wasn't the only one playing. Anyway, it was just a great time of worship and I hope she comes all the time. I mean, we already like her and her husband, but with her skillz, it would make her being there that much better.
