I never understood the interest people had in fixing old cars and making them as good or better than the original. Well, now I can fully understand. I am getting so excited to fix my bike up. Last friday I went and bought a new rear tire, oil, filter, and bar ends for the bike. They had to order the tire, so hopefully it will be here by wednesday. Once it gets here I'll have to take the tire to a shop down the road from here, and they will take the old tire off, put the new one on and balance the wheel. It should be fun stuff.
Tonight we bought some steel wool so I can clean the engine and surrounding areas and get all the oxidation off. On saturday I used a wire brush on one side, and it took a while, but it started getting clean. I also think I'm going to go to Walmart and buy some Mother's Chrome polish.
Anyway, I just wanted to keep y'all updated on the sweetness I call, uh, my bike. Maybe y'all could help me come up with a sweet name for it. That would be sweet.

Yeah, your bike is starting to bling a little more. :)
I hope you can spare a little bit from those 2 big packages of steel wool, I wanna try to clean the sink around the veggie sprayer with some!
Sounds like fun. While you're at wal-mart you should pick up some of those plastic spinners for your bike. Then it would have some real bling.
Well, I guess I won't really understand the joy people get out of fixing old cars until I have my very own motorcycle that I get to fix up. :) I'm glad you're enjoying it! Oh, and I think you should name it Grechen. That would be pretty sweet. :)
I thought that I commented. I guess not. I would recommend Phillip or Quincy. I guess maybe Caleb would be good too. :)
Since it has that sweet light under the tank, and it's shiny black, I vote Black Gold or if you feel Beverly Hillbillyish, Texas Tea. Hey, just think how tough that sheep must be that gives up steel wool.
I say you name it Zorro, after all, it's black and I think you should wear a mask while riding it! Thanks for the call the other day!
